In depend of the Municipality
of Sarmiento.
It's situated in the historic building of the old train station
on the 20 June street number 114. It was inaugurated in 1973 and
reinstalled in its new place in 2004. This modern museum show
us importants vestiges of the Tehuelche and Mapuches culture that
habited the valley of Sermiento and its environs. About 24000
pieces, contribute with a variated and very interesting lithic
material. Its distribution show us the most primitives cultures
and the fusion with the colonists coming from europe to this valley
in 1897. A true richness of Museum is the first Argentine flag
hoisted in the Colonia, maked with cloths of sheets and its painted
sun are a technical of saturation with tints extracted of the
roots of Calafate maked by aborigines woman.
