Sarmiento was born as a Colony of Gales at which add next a crucible of race of different origins, mayority Europeans.
Whit an actual poblation that exceed the 10000 inhabitants, this calm locality is settled in the south extreme of the province of chubut, at 45º 35' south Latitud and 69º 05' west Longitud. It´s part of the called Central Corridor of the Patagonia, its valley is a small oasis in the center of the solitary patagonic meset.
Distant at 140km in west direction of the port city of Comodoro Rivadavia and connected with the National Route Nº 3, National Route Nº 26 and Provincial Route Nº 20 (totaly pavement). Following this last route and after traveling 440km we are in full cordillera of the Andes in the Esquel city (invernal centre).



This productive valley surround by the Musters and Colhué Huapi lakes comprise 42.000 hectares, distributed in 150 farming exploitations irrigated by the Senguer River and an important system of channels.
Its production is varied, between its we find pastures, "fructicultura", horticulture, breeding and feeding of cattle and sheep. it is an important gas and oil basin too, with almost the 40% of the total production of the province.
Sarmiento hoard in its bowels a rich archaeological, geologic, palaeontology and pale botanic history. Testimonies that extends from the 120.000.000 of years (Pale vertebrates). 65.000.000 of years, age of its splendid petrified forests, to 10.000 years of human presence ("Pampidos", "Tehuelches" and Mapuches).
In the actuality it has an estimate population of 10.000 inhabitants.
